How we verify RTP

Every percentage on this site comes from a document we can link to. Here’s which documents count, how we date them, and where our checking stops.

Sources we accept

  1. State minimums — the Gaming Machine National Standard and each state or territory appendix, plus the relevant Act or regulation where it sets the figure.
  2. Online game RTP — the studio’s own game page, game sheet or in-game help file. Where a studio lists several settings, we show them all.
  3. Venues — the venue’s own website, or a regulator’s register. Aggregator lists of venues aren’t a source.

Sources we don’t accept

Casino review sites, affiliate lists and forum posts are never the source for a figure. If a studio doesn’t publish an RTP, we say “not published” and, at most, mention what a game catalogue reports, labelled as such.

Dates

Each page shows when it was published and when its figures were last checked, and each source shows the date we read it. A figure that isn’t re-checked keeps its old date.

What we can’t verify

We can’t see which RTP setting a particular venue machine or online casino is running. That’s in the game’s own help or information screens. We also check from outside Australia at times, and some regulator pages don’t load from abroad; pages say when that has happened.

Corrections

Send a newer source to hello@pokiesrtpaustralia.com. If it checks out, the figure and the date change on the page.
